We are proud to share that Raven Halfmoon is a finalist for the Museum of Arts and Design (NYC)'s Burke Prize. The prize is awarded to a contemporary artist under the age of 45 working in glass, fiber, clay, metal, and/or wood. Selected by a jury of professionals in the fields of art, craft, and design, the finalists represent emerging voices expanding the disciplines at the core of American studio craft movement whose highly accomplished work demonstrates a strong use of materials, innovative processes, and conceptual rigor and relevance.
Named for Marian and Russell Burke, two passionate collectors of craft and longtime supporters of MAD, the Burke Prize is an unrestricted award of $50,000. The winner will be announced November 4 at MAD Ball, the Museum's annual benefit gala and dinner.
Raven's work will be included in a show at MAD October 3, 2019 through April 12, 2020.
